The capital of Laos, or Lao People¡¦s Democratic Republic, is Vientiane. It is in Asia and its size is 6,800 kilo meters. That¡¦s a little bigger than Utah. Laos has a tropical monsoon climate. Temperatures range between 57¢XF and ¢XF with April as the warmest month, and January as the coolest month. Laos borders Myanmar, Cambodia, China, Thailand, and Vietnam. Japan took over Laos in World War II and France took it back in 146. Laos won independence from France in July 1, 14 and it is a communist country. Laos also fought in the Vietnam War for the north side. The people in Laos are open, kind, and friendly. In Laos, you salute by holding your hands together in front of your chest. Bo pen ngang (never mind) is a common expression. Laos has a wide range of food, ranging from European to Asian cuisine. Lao food is very spicy, but you can find Japanese, French, Italian, Chinese, Indian and other kinds of food in Laos. But if you ever visit Laos please do not forget to try khao neo (sticky rice). Khao neo is a symbol of Laos and it¡¦s taken together with all sort of food (like Europeans eat bread). In Laos there are no separate courses and all the dishes are served at the same time. Lao marriages are similar to Buddhist marriages. One of Laos¡¦s holidays is Republic Day which is celebrated on December . some agricultural products are sweet potatoes, corn, coffee, sugarcane, tobacco, cotton; tea, peanuts, rice; water buffalo, pigs, and cattle.

Silicon is the raw material most often used in integrated circuit (IC) fabrication. It is the second most abundant substance on the earth. It is extracted from rocks and common beach sand and put through an exhaustive purification process. In this form, silicon is the purist industrial substance that man produces, with impurities comprising less than one part in a billion. That is the equivalent of one tennis ball in a string of golf balls stretching from the earth to the moon.

Semiconductors are usually materials which have energy-band gaps smaller than eV. An important property of semiconductors is the ability to change their resistivity over several orders of magnitude by doping. Semiconductors have electrical resistivities between 10-5 and 107 ohms. Semiconductors can be crystalline or amorphous. Elemental semiconductors are simple-element semiconductor materials such as silicon or germanium.

Silicon is the most common semiconductor material used today. It is used for diodes, transistors, integrated circuits, memories, infrared detection and lenses, light-emitting diodes (LED), photosensors, strain gages, solar cells, charge transfer devices, radiation detectors and a variety of other devices. Silicon belongs to the group IV in the periodic table. It is a grey brittle material with a diamond cubic structure. Silicon is conventionally doped with Phosphorus, Arsenic and Antimony and Boron, Aluminum, and Gallium acceptors. The energy gap of silicon is 1.1 eV. This value permits the operation of silicon semiconductors devices at higher temperatures than germanium.

Now I will give you some brief history of the evolution of electronics which will help you understand more about semiconductors and the silicon chip. In the early 100’s before integrated circuits and silicon chips were invented, computers and radios were made with vacuum tubes. The vacuum tube was invented in 106 by Dr.Lee DeForest. Throughout the first half of the 0th century, vacuum tubes were used to conduct, modulate and amplify electrical signals. They made possible a variety of new products including the radio and the computer. However vacuum tubes had some inherent problems. They were bulky, delicate and expensive, consumed a great deal of power, took time to warm up, got very hot, and eventually burned out. The first digital computer contained 18,000 vacuum tubes, weighed 50 tins, and required 140 kilowatts of power.

By the 10’s, researchers at the Bell Telephone Laboratories were looking for a replacement for the vacuum tube. They began studying the electrical properties of semiconductors which are non-metallic substances, such as silicon, that are neither conductors of electricity, like metal, nor insulators like wood, but whose electrical properties lie between these extremes. By 147 the transistor was invented. The Bell Labs research team sought a way of directly altering the electrical properties of semiconductor material. They learned they could change and control these properties by doping the semiconductor, or infusing it with selected elements, heated to a gaseous phase. When the semiconductor was also heated, atoms from the gases would seep into it and modify its pure, crystal structure by displacing some atoms. Because these dopant atoms had different amount of electrons than the semiconductor atoms, they formed conductive paths. If the dopant atoms had more electrons than the semiconductor atoms, the doped regions were called n-type to signify and excess of negative charge. Less electrons, or an excess of positive charge, created p-type regions. By allowing this dopant to take place in carefully delineated areas on the surface of the semiconductor, p-type regions could be created within n-type regions, and vice-versa. The transistor was much smaller than the vacuum tube, did not get very hot, and did not require a headed filament that would eventually burn out.

Finally in 158, integrated circuits were invented. By the mid 150’s, the first commercial transistors were being shipped. However research continued. The scientist began to think that if one transistor could be built within one solid piece of semiconductor material, why not multiple transistors or even an entire circuit. With in a few years this speculation became one solid piece of material. These integrated circuits(ICs) reduced the number of electrical interconnections required in a piece of electronic equipment, thus increasing reliability and speed. In contrast, the first digital electronic computer built with 18,000 vacuum tubes and weighed 50 tons, cost about 1 million, required 140 kilowatts of power, and occupied an entire room. Today, a complete computer, fabricated within a single piece of silicon the size of a child’s fingernail, cost only about $10.00.

Now I will tell you the method of how the integrated circuits and the silicon chip is formed. Before the IC is actually created a large scale drawing, about 400 times larger than the actual size is created. It takes approximately one year to create an integrated circuit. Then they have to make a mask. Depending on the level of complexity, an IC will require from 5 to 18 different glass masks, or work plates to create the layers of circuit patterns that must be transferred to the surface of a silicon wafer. Mask-making begins with an electron-beam exposure system called MEBES. MEBES translates the digitized data from the pattern generating tape into physical form by shooting an intense beam of electrons at a chemically coated glass plate. The result is a precise rendering, in its exact size, of a single circuit layer, often less than one-quarter inch square. Working with incredible precision , it can produce a line one-sixtieth the width of a human hair.

After purification, molten silicon is doped, to give it a specific electrical characteristic. Then it is grown as a crystal into a cylindrical ingot. A diamond saw is used to slice the ingot into thin, circular wafers which are then polished to a perfect mirror finish mechanically and chemically. At this point IC fabrication is ready to begin.

To begin the fabrication process, a silicon wafer (p-type, in this case) is loaded into a 100 C furnace through which pure oxygen flows. The end result is an added layer of silicon dioxide (SiO), grown on the surface of the wafer. The oxidized wafer is then coated with photoresist, a light-sensitive, honey-like emulsion. In this case we use a negative resist that hardens when exposed to ultra-violet light. To transfer the first layer of circuit patterns, the appropriate glass mask is placed directly over the wafer. In a machine much like a very precise photographic enlarger, an ultraviolet light is projected through the mask. The dark pattern on the mask conceals the wafer beneath it, allowing the photoresist to stay soft; but in all other areas, where light passes through the clear glass, the photoresist hardens. The wafer is then washed in a solvent that removes the soft photoresist, but leaves the hardened photoresist on the wafer. Where the photoresist was removed, the oxide layer is exposed. An etching bath removes this exposed oxide, as well as the remaining photoresist. What remains is a stencil of the mask pattern, in the form of minute channels of oxide and silicon. The wafer is placed in a diffusion furnace which will be filled with gaseous compounds (all n-type dopants), for a process known as impurity doping. In the hot furnace, the dopant atoms enter the areas of exposed silicon, forming a pattern of n-type material. An etching bath removes the remaining oxide, and a new layer of silicon (n-) is deposited onto the wafer. The first layer of the chip is now complete, and the masking process begins again a new layer of oxide is grown, the wafer is coated with photoresist, the second mask pattern is exposed to the wafer, and the oxide is etched away to reveal new diffusion areas. The process is repeated for every mask - as many as 18 - needed to create a particular IC. Of critical importance here is the precise alignment of each mask over the wafer surface. It is out of alignment more than a fraction of a micrometer (one-millionth of a meter), the entire wafer is useless. During the last diffusion a layer of oxide is again grown over the water. Most of this oxide layer is left on the wafer to serve as an electrical insulator, and only small openings are etched through the oxide to expose circuit contact areas. To interconnect these areas, a thin layer of metal (usually aluminum) is deposited over the entire surface. The metal dips down into the circuit contact areas, touching the silicon. Most of the surface metal is then etched away, leaving an interconnection pattern between the circuit elements. The final layer is vapox, or vapour-deposited-oxide, a glass-like material that protects the IC from contamination and damage. It, too, is etched away, but only above the bonding pads, the square aluminum areas to which wires will later be attached.

Flight Centre

Flight Centre is in the market of retail travel and tourism. It is a travel agency at which people wishing to go on holiday whether domestic or International, come into one of there many stores and speak to a travel consultant about where they want to go and how much that will cost them. The Consultants then is able to book the holiday for the customer/client whether that is a hotel or an International flight to Paris.

The market for people wanting to travel in this modern era is of gigantic proportions with people particularly in Western Cultures wanting to escape the busy and chaotic modern life of today’s world.

Travel has become more adventurous before what was seen, as a peaceful place to go for a holiday has now become a tourist nightmare. Persons wishing to get away from it all have to venture out further. This has opened up the door for more remote destinations for the young; holiday places such Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam places that traditionally were not accessible. Also in many cases the lack of time of many in the Western World causes people to consider time limits. Often there is not enough time to go from Australia to Europe. As there point of the Holiday is not to be on a plane for a substantial part of their holiday, also the cost of trips to closer locations is more than likely to be half of a trip to Europe.

Young people generally do have a lot higher budget than older travellers.

The market for travel is big with every person particularly in the younger generation seeing travel as a must. Just by looking at the amount of youth hostels opening up in recent years gives you an idea of how big the market for travel is.

The world even after the horrific events of September 11 001 still wants to travel and broaden their mind. As the Western Countries become more and more overcrowded. The market for travel will increase. Every person will need to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern western life.

As the third world countries inhabitants begin to gather money together I believe the market will be global and the chance for Flight Centre to become one of the worlds biggest companies extremely high.

The mission/purpose of Flight Centre fit in strongly with this concept. Mission is “To open up the world for those who want to see.” Flight Centre must set an objective to increase it’s market share of the Young travel market. Young persons like something different or away from mainstream, Flight Centre do have the staff being young enthusiastic but do not have the store layout, the store are set up as a more formal like occasion with package.

Key Competitor Analysis

The key competitors against Flight Centre are five key companies with Jetset and Travel world now joined together that combination could prove to be lethal for Flight Centre. Three of these competitors try to tackle Flight Centre head on with Web jet running an extensive Television campaign mentioning Flight Centre claims of being the cheapest airfares and attempting to convert Flight Centre customers away from Flight Centre web and on to there web site.

In an Article in the Sydney Morning Herald dated Thursday November 6th it addresses the competitors of Flight Centres wish to challenge Flight Centre. It talks about the joining of Travelworld and Jetset and also the company buying the once Ansett owned company Traveland which is now not in existence but owned by Jetset. Mr sparks chief executive of Jetset stated “ Flight Centre has a very strong positioning in the marketplace in terms of price and air business, What I am after is the value proposition and providing a solution for the customer who wants to come in and be apart of the process.” Recent profits for Jetset were in fact down because of September 11 yet Flight Centre profits reached record highs how competitive this new team will be I don’t know.

Webjet has taken a lot of business from the Flight Centre web market. Flight Centre does not have big market share in terms of web based booking with more and more people using the web nowadays its something which Flight Centre needs to address in the near future before company’s such as Webjet do take over the web based booking industry.

Thomas Cook travel is the biggest competitor in overseas market it has been established overseas for many decades now and particularly in the United Kingdom Thomas Cook has the same amount of Market share as Flight Centre does in Australia.

Flight Centre is really keen to expand it’s overseas market but with big established names like Thomas Cook, Flight Centre may find it rather difficult. Harvey world travel is a large competitor to flight Centre consultancy business as it has a range of stores which do offer package deals and exceptional service and also is well renowned and trusted brand in the marketplace. A web based American based company called Expedia could prove to be a threat with ¼ of the Staff of Flight Centre it’s profit is more than 5 times that of Flight Centre due to the low overheads involved in web based booking. Expedia was started up by Compaq so it users the most up to date technology.

Target Market Analysis

Market include

· Family’s

· Students

· Retires

· Business people

· Singles

· Couples

In a recent survey done by Flight Centre it shows that their Customers are what their occupation is age etc.

Age % Of Customer

15-4 1%

5-4 1%

5-44 %

45-54 1%

55-64 16%

65+ 8%

Occupation %

Unemployed 1%

Retired 1%

Student 6%

Home maker 6%

Manual worker %

Trades 4%

Sales/Services 1%

Semi professional 14%

Business Managers professional 41%

As you can see from these results the age of customers at Flight Centre do vary enormously but their occupation is in more than half the time going to be either semi professional or professional in 54% of cases surveyed that was the case. There is 64% chance that the Flight Centre customers are aged between 5 and 54 years.

Surprisingly only 6 % of Flight Centre customers were students and only 1% were aged between 15 and 4. Today students are travelling more than another age bracket, this suggest that Flight Centre has not hit the Student Market yet and that students are not using Flight Centre. It is from this that I believe Flight Centre needs to change slightly and Target a more student base client between the agers of 15-4.

For a company, which has 0% market, share to only have 6% of its clients between the ages of 15-4 is wrong, particularly when persons in that age bracket make up in Australia 7% of all travel.

Promotion (retail Marketing Mix)

The promotion mix for Flight Centre will consist of many channels. The first channel used will be the television. The main focus for the promotion budget will be directed towards television. The Ads will contain information on seasonal deals and feature the company logo and slogan, as well as drive to web. The ads will be aimed at all areas of the market with a main emphasis on family programs.

Flight Centre will also involve itself with trade shows. Setting up information stands at all the major tourism shows and ads in trade publications and in-flight magazines. Flight Centre wants to get its product out into the travelling market

Flight Centre will also be sending out brochures to its previous customers. These brochures will be similar to the television ads, explaining up and coming deals. The difference between this and the television ads is that the brochures will be more in depth.

There will be similar brochures handed to universities, TAFE, Colleges and backpackers. These brochures will focus mainly on student deals and deals to places where students visit frequently.

Conclusion

This is a focused plan, aimed at gaining more of a market and stimulate the previous market to become active again. The idea behind the promotions is to push the deals. We want to get the idea across to the market that Flight Centre is the cheapest and best way to travel the world.

We have aimed at gaining more of a family and student market share. We feel that this is a boom area, as they gain more money.

A Book Report on The Alchemist By Paulo Coelho Submitted to Ms. K. Deshotel By Timothy

Zimmerman English IV AP(G) - hour 1 Northshore High School 0/1/000 Biography of Author -

Paulo Coelho was born in Rio de Janiero in 147 and before his career as a best-selling

author, he was a playwright, theatre director, hippie, and popular songwriter for some of

Brazils leading pop artists. In 186 he took a pilgrimage along that Road of Santiago

and this would be the center of the plot of the book, The Pilgrimage, which was published

in 187. His second book was named The Alchemist and was published in 188. This book has

gone to number one in countries and Coelho has been regarded as the most widely read

contemporary writers. The Alchemist was one of the top ten international best sellers of

18. His work has been published in more than 100 countries and is translated into

different languages. He has been awarded a variety of prestigious awards from many different

countries. He today lives in South America with his family. Main Characters - The Shepherd -

This was the boy through whose eyes the story was told. He followed his personal legend to

the fullest and never let up with his dream. He went all over the land and was able to realize

the treasure that he had been so close to in the beginning of the novel. The King - He was the

one that gave the shepherd the two stones that would supposedly help him whenever he had a

rough time deciding about what to do. He made the boy give him ten percent of his flock,

because you should never promise something that you dont have. The Englishmen - This was the man that the boy met on his trip to the pyramids. He was the one who turned the boy onto the idea of the alchemist and the masterwork. Before this he had never known of the alchemist and the great things that he could do in the world. The Alchemist - This is the man that he met in the desert and he helped the shepherd to lead the people from the danger that was imminent from the war. He also allowed the boy to follow his legend and realize his dream. Summary - The story begins when the shepherd boy stopped for the night in a church with a sycamore tree growing out of the middle. He told of the easy going life of the shepherd and how his parents had wanted to become a priest. He had attended all of the schooling, but had decided against it at the last minute. He had wanted to see the world and he felt that the best way to do this was to go and become a shepherd. He said that the life of a shepherd is easy and carefree and he felt like that this was the way that he wanted to spend his life. He was anticipating

seeing the daughter of a man who would buy the wool from his sheep when he arrived in the

town that he would come to in another couple of days. He thought that he might actually

settle down and get married to this girl if she would like to. He had been having a recurring

dream about him at the pyramids in Egypt. There he would be able to find all of the treasure

in the world and to realize what would come to be called his personal legend. So, the next

town that he went to he went to a fortuneteller and asked her if she could help him out of his

dilemma. She was unclear about what to do, but she made him promise to give him a percentage of

his treasure if he ever found it. When he left the fortuneteller, he went and sat in the park

where he would have been content to read his new book. He was not in a good mood for talking

with others when the old king approached him and tried to strike up a conversation with him.

He told the boy that everyone has a personal legend that he has to fulfill at some time in

his life. He tells him that his could be found at the pyramids because of the dreams that

he has been having lately. He tells him that he will help him if he will give him ten percent

of his herd, because you should never promise anything that you dont have yet. He sold all of

his sheep and he was given ummim and thummim, the two rocks that would help him make any

decisions that he was unable to make. He took to the road and traveled to the northern tip of

Africa. There he was setting off with all of his money in his pocket and set to a bar where he

didnt speak the same language as any of the people there. He was taken for a fool and all of

his money was taken in the first few hours. He stayed in the town for a while and he went into

a shop that sold crystal. He helped the man to clean all of the crystal and while he was there,

two people came in and bought crystal. The owner thought that this was a good omen and that he

should try to keep the boy around. Since he didnt have any money he stayed on for eleven months

and greatly improved the mans shop. When he finally left he had enough money to do with what he

wanted and he set off to fulfill his personal legend. He traveled to the pyramids by way of

northern Africa. About half way through his trip he came onto an oasis that was in the middle

of a war between two native tribes. The rules of war said that the oasis should be a safe

haven for all of the people that were traveling through the desert. This is where he met the

alchemist, the man that would help him to realize his personal legend. By going off into

desert at night, he learned all about the masterwork and the many things that he needed to do

in order to become a true alchemist. He began to have a dream about a group of rebels attacking

the oasis because they thought that the travelers would be taking up arms against them. The boy

went to the men who were in charge of the oasis and told them of the impending doom that was

coming onto the oasis. They didnt believe that this dream was an omen but they gave him one

shot. The rebels did attack and they were able to fend off all of the assailants. The boy was

hailed as a hero and he went off into the desert to seek his personal legend. Here he was

forced to make a decision about whether or not to leave behind the woman that he had met and

had decided to marry. He said that he would return later and he did. This was after he found

out about his treasure that he wanted for such a long time. He finally figured out that his

treasure was in the sycamore tree that was growing out of the middle of an old church. He

returned to his homeland and had his treasure intact and was able to live happily ever after.

Theme - The main theme of this novel was that you should follow your personal legend to the

fullest. Throughout his life the boy had been discouraged and could have given up on his dream.

But, this would have caused a void in his life. This is sort of like the old man who owned the

crystal shop, who would not take a pilgrimage because he would have nothing left to look forward

to in his life. When the boy was leaving though, he did decide to take the pilgrimage and

probably did not regret the fact that he had done something to prove his faith. The Boy faced

many obstacles in his lifetime but stayed true to what the omens had told him and also what his

personal legend had been. In the end he realized the legend and found what he thought to be

true happiness. Analysis - The thing that particularly annoyed me about this book was the fact

that was that the theme was ever changing. Within the main theme there were many other small

themes that helped to develop the main theme, but added to the confusion of the novel. The

thing that I liked about this book was that it was very straightforward and left nothing up to

the imagination. If I were to rewrite this book I would change it by adding in a little more

bad things that happen to the main character to show the real hardships that he had faced while

chasing his personal legend. If I would have had the opportunity to speak to the boy in the

book I would have told him that he should have stayed on at the crystal shop because he had a

good thing going and he could have made a lot of money and bought his own happiness and

realized his personal legend in his own rite. One thing that reminded me of another book that

I read was In the Lake of the Woods, because both of the main characters were trying to run

away from what had been in their lives to find something better. I would recommend this book

to anyone who was undecided about what their life was meaning to them. This book really gives

them insight about their lives and that someone is worried about them and that there is

something that they have to look forward to, like the crystal merchant.

Consider the role that Duke Vincentio plays in Measure For Measure. Do his actions remain consistent throughout? Are his actions responsible? Refer to the novel in order to support your answer

Duke Vincentio plays a very important, yet controversial role in William Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure. Firstly he gives power away to Angelo his deputy, and disappears from the Viennese political scene, to come back as an advice-giving Friar. He then goes on to try to resolve the situation between Isabella and Angelo. Angelo his replacement at the head of power gives Isabella an ultimatum involving the life of her dear brother Claudio. Isabella has to sleep with Claudio in order for her brother not to be executed, so Isabella comes to Duke Vincentio (disguised as Friar Lodewick) for help.

The Duke in Act , scene we first see the Duke disguised as Friar Lodewick and he seems very helpful, caring and virtuous which of course are the traits that made him the Duke he was. The Duke’s action seem to be very unselfious, he gives up his power because he feels he is not fulfilling his duty and goes out of his way to help the grieving Juliet. Then the Duke meets Isabella and falls for her beauty he even goes as far as saying that ‘the hand that has made you fair hath made you good’. This influences his actions for the rest of the play, as he now seeks to make Isabella his own and make sure she stays away from Angelo. He then makes sure that Isabella switches with Mariana, who was betrothed to Angelo, and that she goes to sleep with Angelo instead of Isabella. He then switches Claudio with Barnadine and he is executed instead of Claudio.

The Duke’s actions remain constant as they help other people out, and he pushes for a joyous resolution. But of course the actions that he commits for him only have two final destinations. Firstly he wishes to become Duke again, and wants the Viennese to see just how virtuous and inspiring a leader that he can be. His actions more than suggest that he is trying to push Angelo away from power. Secondly his actions proof that he is madly in love with the fair and enchanting Isabella. He would not risk the life of Mariana by sending her to Angelo instead of Isabella, and execute Barnadine to make to Isabella happy if he was not doing everything for her. Therefore we can also say that his actions are not always constant as he switches the aim of his actions. His actions can be seen as acts of love, or as acts of trickery on Angelo.

The actions that he takes cannot entirely be seen as responsible. The only types of responsibility that he used in his actions are the ones that he has to accept the full responsibility for. His actions cannot fully be justified as being responsible or even reasonable; after all he is blinded by his love for Isabella. He tampers with the emotions of Mariana and Angelo by re-uniting them after their traumatic separation due to the unfortunate drowning of Mariana’s brother. Angelo is in a state of shock as he now knows that he must renounce his position as Duke, due to the fact that he had already committed (and was about to commit the same crime again) the crime that his regime and rule was so against. The execution of Barnadine on the other hand can be seen as responsible although many would beg to differ. Barnadine was already waiting to be executed a long time and he had commited a crime under the Duke’s reign. Claudio commited a crime that was hyprocritcally condemned by Angelo, so Claudio had a viable reason not to be executed.

The last speech made by the Duke in the play sums up all of his actions and the reader has to make his own judgement on whether or not the Duke’s actions were consistent and responsible. The Duke became madly in love with Isabella and therefor his actions were not responsiblty, instead they can be seen as selficious. But his actions can be described as consistent as he is persistant in reclaming the title of Duke, and in obtaining Isabella’s hand in marriage.

In the past five years, the entertainment industry has been more and more focused on the idea of reality-based entertainment. This vast desire for seemingly live television has made a great impact upon major network television stations. Shows such as MTV’s Real World and CBS’s Survivor are great indicators of society’s obsession with drama in a “live” situation. It seems our infatuation with these shows stems from our desire to focus our attention away from our own tribulations and focus on problems elsewhere. Our mysterious want for conflict among others has forced many networks to provoke such drama, for example in Survivor, where castaways are forced to take sides and vote another member off the island. This idea of social Darwinism in shows like Survivor and the ever so popular Big Brother force major networks to create entertainment that both provoke and stimulate disagreement among participants. Personally, I feel that because of television’s fixation with reality-based programs, people are now turning to the movie industry to get away from such realistic forms of entertainment. Popular movies such as Bedazzled, The Ladies Man, and The Exorcist all deal with fantasy type situations. Bedazzled, starring Brendan Frasier and Elizabeth Hurley is about a man who sells his soul to the devil, played by Hurley. Moviegoers can simply escape reality for a few hours by entertaining themselves with themes such as this. Genres focusing on such fantasy are rarely seen on prime-time television these days, especially on the major networks such as FOX and ABC. Why is this? Well my impression is that people feel as if they deserve to come home and take their mind of the troubles they had for the day. By being able to watch shows such as ER, which ranked first among viewers this past week, people can direct their attention onto another person’s drama while ignoring their own. Voyeurism today is clearly an indicator of change in taste for viewers around the world. According to Time Almanac1, the top three shows of 18 were Seinfeld, Veronica’s Closet, and Friends. If you look at the top three shows during months while a reality based show is being aired, you will most typically find that show to be number one among viewers in the rankings. This growing trend of live-based entertainment is setting a new stage for twenty first century viewers today. Real-life issues however can be distorted at times when being seen second hand. MTV’s Real World has been accused several times of editing their tape purposely to show conflict for the viewers. From my perspective, I do not see how you cannot purposely create conflict when you put seven completely different people into one house. Add cameras and you are guaranteed drama. This was the same for CBS’s Big Brother this past season. Although the majority of time residents got along just fine, there were many scenes that focused on the personal problems of those living in the house. Whether it dealt with a crush on another member of the house, or a disagreement, viewers were able to relate their issues to those in the house, making them feel as if they are not alone. This is a primary reason why we see such an increase in reality-based television these days. If you analyze current rankings among primetime network shows, you will not find as many reality based shows. This is because seasons of both Survivor and Big Brother have just ended. New series’ will be coming out sometime in 001, where networks feel the impact will be even greater than last time. ABC’s Who Wants To Be A Millionaire is however still one of the top syndicated shows in the industry today. This provides both a trivial and real life perspective for viewers out there. Unlike its other competitors in the world of “live based” television, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire gives those who watch substance, instead of pure provoked conflict. Honestly, from my point of view, I feel the relationship between the movie industry and the contemporary issues in society do not represent each other at all. Movies in my opinion deal with much more with unrealistic themes. Either when talking about comedy, or horror-based films, movies tend to provide a much greater perspective of our imaginative side. Recent films such as Me, Myself, and Irene and Whipped, give audiences insane comedy that would never be thought of in the real world. I also feel movies leave a greater impact on the mind than television shows do. Because movies can be sometimes far fetched, people are many times inspired to act upon what they have seen in movies. Many school killings such as Columbine have been said to be inspired by movies, specifically Basketball Diaries, in which Leonardo Di Caprio’s character shoots his entire class during school. These fantasy ideas given to viewers can sometimes be dangerous for vulnerable teenagers to see, but thanks to laws such as our rating system, the industry tries it’s best to keep such movies out of the minds of our youth. Another relationship that I found to be very insightful is that of the nightly news and drama based shows such as Big Brother. As focused on earlier in this class, news today deals with mostly negative information and investigative reporting. This so called drama we see in the news is highly demanded; ironically this is exactly what voyeuristic viewers yearn for as well a situation where conflict and negativity are highly prevalent. In a nation of immense variety, society has found a common interest when it comes to television shows today. Reality-based entertainment is definitely the standard for today’s major networks. It will be interesting to see what stations come out with in the next few years that deal with our voyeuristic wants. The question on my mind is how far are people willing to go when it comes to submitting themselves to the public for means of entertainment. From what I have witnessed so far, the more money offered, the farther people are willing to take away their privacy and cash it in for fame. What we must realize though is that television shows that are based on real life are still television shows. It’s entertainment and we must not let ourselves get buried into the turmoil of others we see on TV today, even if it seems “live”.

Ticketing was another area where Southwest was able to realize cost savings. Southwest was the first of the major carriers to offer electronic ticketing (e-tickets). Electronic ticketing costs $1 per ticket compared to estimated $8 for paper tickets. Much of that difference was in labor costs. Besides labor costs, E-tickets also helped Southwest economize on commissions to travel agents. Passenger traffic commissions accounted for only 5 percent of Southwest’s operating expenses compared to 8 percent for Delta and United Airlines. By 18, other major airlines had introduced electronic ticketing. Southwest, however, with over 60 percent of its passengers flying on e-tickets, still issued a far greater proportion of tickets electronically than other major airlines such as Delta who had reached 4 percent by mid 18.

While other airlines wondered how to address fears of terrorism and other threats, Neeleman comforted customers by acting quickly. With just one aircraft model, JetBlue was able to engineer new safety features much more rapidly than competitors after Sept. 11. It was the first to retrofit each of its planes with reinforced cockpit doors and onboard surveillance cameras.

But Neeleman knew he couldnt depend just on tight security and tasty junk food. To reach out to the 1 million people living within a 60-mile radius of New York City, he relies on Amy Curtis-McIntyre, a veteran of Virgin Atlantics marketing department, to develop ad campaigns that are high on creativity and snarkiness. A native New Yorker, shes primarily responsible for the hip image JetBlue has developed. He wanted cheap and cheerful, says Curtis-McIntyre. I wanted cheap and chic. We used to have job-threatening battles about how to approach advertising.

Ultimately, they compromised on cheap and cheeky. Billboards in New York promise Free TV With Every Purchase. In the Los Angeles area the company pushes flights to San Francisco with its From smog to fog advertisements. One spot, targeted at New Yorkers, depicts what a subway car might be like if it were a JetBlue flight. Crew members dance through the car inserting pillows under passengers heads, placing blankets over sleeping bodies, pouring coffee in the cup that a beggar is using to collect change, and so on. All the while, they dance with passengers and sing Put a Little Love in Your Heart. This approach is selling well among both New Yorks bargain-hungry and its most affluent, and its earned JetBlue a loyal and loving following. According to the airline, the majority of the tickets it sells out of New York are to people who live within the Upper East Sides 1001 zip code, Manhattans version of 010.

But is his brand of niceness enough to help JetBlue maintain its edge in the long run? After all, company values and all that sweetness are great when business is going your way. Labor costs are likely to rise if employees unionize in the next couple of years. Neeleman has tried to head that off with a package that gave employees 15.5% of their gross salary in profit sharing last year, but that may not be enough. Then theres the inevitable aging of its planes, which will need costly repairs. Weve factored those added expenses into our plan going forward, argues Rhoades.

Competition from other airlines is also looming, and each has its own take on cheap and cheeky. Delta launched its discount spinoff, Song, this month with daily flights to West Palm Beach from all three major New York City airports, perhaps gaining an edge over

researchers found that smokers reaped less quality-of-life benefits than nonsmokers

smoking makes a difference in general health perception, pain, social function

Smoke from cigars, cigarettes, and pipes harms your body in many ways, but it is especially harmful to the lungs of a person with asthma. Tobacco smoke is a powerful trigger of asthma symptoms

When a person inhales tobacco smoke, irritating substances settle in the moist lining of the airways. These substances can cause an attack in a person who has asthma.

In addition, tobacco smoke damages tiny hair-like structures in the airways called cilia. Normally, cilia sweeps dust and mucus out of the airways. Tobacco smoke damages cilia so they are unable to work, allowing dust and mucus to accumulate in the airways.

Smoke also causes the lungs to make more mucus than normal. As a result, even more mucus can build up in the airways, triggering an attack.

Second-hand smoke is the combination of smoke from a burning cigar or cigarette and smoke exhaled by a smoker.

Inhaling second-hand smoke, also called passive smoke or environmental tobacco smoke, from another person may be even more harmful than actually smoking. Thats because the smoke that burns off the end of a cigar or cigarette contains more harmful substances (tar, carbon monoxide, nicotine, and others) than the smoke inhaled by the smoker.

Second-hand smoke is especially harmful to people who already have asthma. When a person with asthma is exposed to second-hand smoke, he or she is more likely to experience the wheezing, coughing and shortness of breath associated with asthma.

A recent study published in The New England Journal of Medicine found that the number one risk factor for heart disease was smoking. Women who smoked 15 or more cigarettes a day had a five times greater risk of developing heart disease than nonsmokers. And women who smoked one to 14 cigarettes a day had three times the risk of developing heart disease compared to women who did not smoke. Overall, 41% of the heart problems reported in this study were directly linked to cigarette smoking

Each day, nearly 4,800 adolescents aged 11 to 17 smoke their first cigarette, and of these, nearly ,000 will become regular smokers. Each year, about 40,700 people die from causes directly related to smoking.

Despite explicit warnings on cigarette packs and those recent terrorist-style commercials on television attacking the tobacco industry, American women still havent heard the whole truth regarding the health problems smoking can cause.

By now, most of us are aware that smokers are at risk for lung and heart disease as well as lung cancer. But those health consequences of smoking affect more men than women. Thats not to say women smokers are not at risk for lung and heart problems, but women do face problems with their reproductive health that men do not.

Over time, smoking can decrease womens levels of the hormone estrogen, putting them at increased risk for the brittle-bone disease osteoporosis. Smoking also has been linked to infertility, early menopause, ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth, and cervical cancer.

You would probably be amazed if you really could count how each day you are reclaiming your life. Knowing the days, hours, minutes, and money saved reminds us of how long weve been free of this demon nicotine, and it can also remind us of how long our miraculous body has been recovering and reclaiming our health.

Society has changed dramatically over the past years. There are the daily pressures of life, along with the influence of movie stars and surrounding peers. Today’s pressures include the desire to be thin and beautiful, and the temptations of drugs and sex. There are also the pressures from parents, alcohol, public images, new fashions, and violence. Television, peers, and the general public relay these things as being normal occurrences.

When it comes to the usage of alcohol and drugs, there are many advertisements, and public images. Young people are shown the “perks” of being drunk and “getting high”. They feel that drinking and taking drugs is the “cool” thing to do. These things are portrayed as “stress relievers” and play a big part in the downfall of most teens. Peers may pressure a youth into trying drugs by making that person feel inferior to those around them. Peers are also an important factor in pressuring a youth.

Television plays an important role in constructing the life of a young person. Traditional role models, such as professional athletes or movie stars, are being viewed as sex symbols and are therefore assisting in the pressuring of young people. Young women want to be like their favorite singer or actress by wearing the clothes they wear or revealing the same amount of skin that the singer shows. Young men want to copy the image of rappers and athletes by having the expensive clothes or the excessive amounts of jewelry they wear. In general, young people want to be recognized and they want to fit in with the fast changing trends around them.

Cola wars COLA WARS

Commercials and soft drinks have become a part of everyday life The combination of these pop-culture creations has made resisting the temptation of sugar based carbonated beverages virtually impossible for most.

A well-known soft drink war between Pepsi and Coca-Cola keeps new, edgy advertising techniques airing during commercial breaks of popular television viewing. Both companies have successfully sold their products despite different selling techniques used when it comes to advertising on television. The Pepsi Cola Corporation uses excellent marketing strategies, such as celebrity appearances, to sell their product, whereas Coca-Cola’s realistic approach has placed them at the top of the soft drink industry. Not only do these competitive companies use television advertising to sale their beverages, but they also attract their consumers with their distinctive product.

BRAND POSITIONING

Coca-Cola’s’ brand personality reflects the positioning of its brand. Positioning is in the mind of the consumer and can be described as how the product is considered by that consumer. When researching the positioning of a product, consumers are often asked how they would describe that product if it were a person. The purpose of this is to develop a character statement. This can ensure that consumers have a clear view of the brand values that make up the brand personality, just like the values and beliefs that make up a person. Many people see ‘Coca-Cola’ as a part of their daily life. This affinity between the brand and the consumer leads to a high degree of loyalty and makes the purchasing decision easier. Brand positioning guides ‘what’ will be communicated in the company’s advertising, while the character statement guides ‘how’ a message should be delivered or put across. Coca-Cola’s’ powerful brand personality has become a vehicle for promotion in its own right, sponsoring many events both on a global and local level. The company has long been associated with global events such as The Olympic Games, The FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup and Special Olympics. Coke has also been linked to world fairs and national exhibitions since 105.

Segmentation and Targeting

Pepsi has always promoted its soft drinks to young people and focused on gaining lifelong customers when they are young. This targeting is different than Coca-Cola who promotes the nostalgic aspect of the cola as well as its association with America. Pepsi has been successful with its strategy in the US because the demographics in the US favored advertising geared to young people. However, some of its failures in foreign markets had more to do with its use of bottlers than with its target market. The newer generations have grown up with Pepsi as the drink for young people and this has helped Pepsi gain market share in foreign markets.

Pricing

In the US, Pepsi prices its products similar to those of Coca-Cola. Competition in the US is based mainly on marketing skill rather than price to help avoid costly price wars and keep profits stable. Since neither of the major manufacturers would win aprice war, it is unwritten rule that the companies will follow the pricing structure of the market leader, which is Coca-Cola. While this amounts to price fixing, there has been has not been any major government actions to curtail the practice so it should continue in the future. However, in other countries the price between Pepsi and Coca-Cola can be substantially different. For example, Pepsi prices its cola in Russia much lower thanCoca-Cola since the country’s economy is doing poorly. This has contributed to thelarge lead in market share that Pepsi holds in Russia. However, Pepsi tries as much aspossible to price its cola the same as Coca-Cola in order to keep profits high. Unless the country is in economic trouble and sales could be improved by beating Coca-Cola on price, Pepsi will match Coca-Cola’s price.

Distribution

Distribution is an important aspect of success in the beverage industry. Since the cola companies want to focus on making syrup and marketing, they need to have strong, loyal bottlers. This is especially the case in foreign markets where the cola companies fiercely battle for good bottlers. In Venezuela, Coca-Cola managed to buy one of Pepsis largest and oldest foreign bottling franchises. It has become standard practice by Coca-Cola to attempt to take away bottlers from Pepsi. Unfortunately for Pepsi, these practices have been successful and have resulted in huge financial losses for its international business. The building of bottlers through joint ventures and the increased maintenance of current bottler relationship should be the main focus of Pepsi’s international marketing. One of Coca-Cola’s major strength’s is its ability to build relationships with its bottlers. Coca-Cola is very methodical in making sure that its bottlers are happy, while Pepsi has been known for neglecting its bottlers. This is one area that Pepsi must improve if it is going to take market share away from Coca-Cola.

Television presents religious character’s in a variety of ways. As the quote says some are portrayed in a negative way and out of touch with the modern world.

A good example of a show portrayed in this light is Father Ted. The television show is set on the small remote Craggy Island. This itself conveys the feeling of isolation to the modern world. Father Ted and his friends are portrayed as out of touch constantly by his views, and consistent sinning.

One episode that shows character’s in a bad light is set in the Lent period of the Christian calendar, where Christians give up one thing for forty days and forty nights to show their respect for Jesus when he fasted for that period of time. Fr Dick Byrne proposes the ultimate sacrifice. No cigarettes, alcohol or roller-blading. The priests soon show signs of cracking and give up completely. This is ironic as Lent is one of the most important dates in the Christian calendar and they aren’t keeping their promise to their faith.

Another example of their approach to life is shown when they enter the Eurovision Song Contest. They have some trouble writing the music so they take someone else’s, which is morally wrong in the eyes of any good Christian, and put their own words to it. They are the worst dressed and the worst musicians, but think the media attention that they are getting is because they are fashionable, trendy people. This just shows how out of touch they really are.

Another character in the media shown in a negative light is Dot Cotton from East Enders. She is a chain-smoking religious woman with an endless need for the latest gossip. She easily gives out judgement on other’s while her own son is a ‘kind hearted’ man even if his criminal record is nothing to be proud of. She casts her own religious judgement aside when dealing with her son, making her very hypocritical as she still thinks that allowing her beliefs to go is okay.

On the other hand some character’s are shown as in touch with the modern world. These include Geraldine Granger from The Vicar of Dibley, and Ashley from Emmerdale.

Geraldine is in touch as she first of all is female. The Roman Catholic Church only started allowing women to be ordained in 18, therefore she is very modern in the church. She has common sense and humour. She believes fully in her religion but doesn’t stop it from letting her see the real world. She has a rational understanding, and keeps up to date with celebrities. This being shown in one episode with Kylie Minogue appearing, where she is seen getting rather excited by this. Geraldine also takes part in modern activities such as sexual relationships, showing that she is not your ‘usual’ religious follower.

Ashley is similar to Geraldine in the way that he gives rational understanding to problems that are brought to him. He is also very compassionate. And when other people reject others he will try his best to understand. This was shown when Zoe, a lesbian wanted some advice. Unlike others he tried his best to help her even though homosexuality is not agreed with in his religion. This shows open mindedness and a modern attitude to the issue.

Having looked at an assortment of religious character’s on the television, I would conclude that the statement I have been asked to comment on is not completely true. Some character’s are shown in a negative light, but there are a lot of character’s in television that are shown as in touch with the modern world. Such as the examples I analysed of Geraldine Granger and Ashley from Emmerdale. These two characters are shown as understanding rational people who do not discriminate against other people whose views conflict with their own.

Emily Dickinson is one of the few poets that I can relate and empathize with. I find her poetry to be extremely moving and touching. Her diction or brevity in the poem, “Success is Counted Sweetest” is remarkable and meaningful. I enjoyed every moment of this poem, not only because it’s touching in many ways, but because the diction and symbolism of each stanza, sentence, and word, meant something special. It was easy to read and after I got the hang of it, it was easy to understand and explain.

Like any other reader would do, I began to read the poem from beginning of line one to the end of line 1. I read it about three to four times before it actually started to click. Her first two lines, “Success is counted sweetest By those who ne’er succeed.” is a mere summary of this poem. In the non poetic terms, all it means is, those who don’t succeed tend to appreciate success better then those who always do. What intrigued me was her choice of the phrase “counted sweetest”. No one can really say success is sweet like a candy, but she chose sweet because it fit better than any other word. For example, the word best would sound horrible in that sentence and not give it the brightness of sweet.

Her next few lines, “To comprehend a nectar Requires sorest need.” is an exceptional ending to that stanza. What I came to find out is that the word nectar actually can mean triumph. So when I substituted triumph into that sentence the whole poem turned around and made complete sense. It doesn’t take to much to comprehend the meaning of triumph, especially if you are the one looking from the outside, not the one triumphing.

Her second stanza has a lot of diction in it. Line six, “Who took the Flag today”, can be interpreted as flag being a victor or win. Instead of leaving it so shallow and adding win, Dickinson put more thought into and added a more meaningful word to it. I definitely think she did not want to ever leave the poem clueless so it couldn’t be understood, so that it why I believe her diction in this stanza is clear and precise.

Her last stanza begins to sum up the poem and also works in well with the first stanza. “As he defeated - dying- On whose forbidden ear” her brevity in this sentence is outstanding. The loser is dying, its straight forward, but the second line, “On...ear” is a little confusing until you read on. That second line comes into play with the last two, “The distant...clear!”. Although the victory is gone (or in the distance) it still strains on the defeated one’s ear, because he/she has not felt victory. As we learned, the word “burst” was substituted with break, two words which can mean the same but can have various meanings when put into a poem. The “burst” of the triumph makes it seem as if it is everlasting, not just broken which can be easily repaired, but burst which can take a much longer time to re-gather or achieve.

When I take Dickinson’s poetry and actual lay back and relax to read it I fulfill a part of me that’s missing. What this poem summarizes to is that it is in defeat when one really begins to appreciate the state of victory! Her diction of words is what I believe made this poem stand out for so many years. It gave it a uniqueness that no other poet has come across!

Essay Discuss the major changes in Alice’s character and relationships over the first year of her life.

The diary of Alice’s life begins, as a she turn fifteen, when we first meet her she is a typical teenager from a middle class family. She has her insecurities and typical teenage problems, but she is a good kid and does reasonably well at school. Everything soon goes downhill, with moving house, Alice getting mixed up in the wrong crowd and getting into drugs. Alice then becomes two people, the Alice who drinks, smokes, does drugs and sleeps around, and the Alice who is the innocent daughter of a loving family. It becomes a battle between Alice the pessimist and Alice the optimist.

When we first meet Alice, she is happy with her life, “ I remember thinking I was the happiest person in the whole earth, the grass had never smelt grassier, and the sky had never seemed so high”. Alice was high on life, she had Roger and life was as it was meant to be. But it all soon changed when Roger, who she believed was her one true love, stands her up. “Now the world is cold and gray and unfeeling”. Here we see Alice with a typical teenage problem, boys, but Alice gets deeply depressed and is convinced that her life has no more meaning.

Alice’s life changes once again, when they move. Alice has mixed feelings about the move. In one hand it’s a chance to start over, new friends, new life, new Alice. And on the other hand there is leaving Gran and Gramps, the house, friends and most of all not being able to fit into the new town. “Oh dear god please help me adjust, help me be accepted, help me belong, don’t let me be a social outcast”. The new town, house and school bring the worst for Alice. “It as was miserable! It was the loneliest, coldest place in the world”. In the new town Alice can’t make friends and can’t fit in. Alice hates everything, she is depressed, puts on weight, and her mother is always on her back, nagging.

Alice is drifting away from her family, and she can’t communicate with her mother anymore. “It is as though we speak different languages now”, “I can’t talk to mum like I used to”. Alice is in a family, but totally alone, she doesn’t fit into the family. The only friend that Alice has is her dairy. Alice has become what she feared she would become, a social outcast. But there is a bit of hope, Alice finds a friend, “she is as cloddy and misfit ting as I am”.

Alice gets good news when her mother lets her go to Gran and Gramps’ house for the summer. When Alice is at their house, she meets Jill, a person she used to envy and want to be friends with when she lived there. Jill invited Alice to a party, Alice finally felt accepted and that she belonged, she was part of the popular group. People liked her for being her. This was the party that introduced Alice to drugs. It seemed innocent, slipping some into her drink, but for Alice this was the beginning of the end. “For whatever I was, I was wonderful, for the first time in my whole life that I could remember I was totally uninhabited”. The drugs turn Alice into the person she always wanted to be.

Alice can’t believe what she has done; its wrong and the normal Alice wouldn’t do it. “I’ve tried to convince myself that using LSD makes me a ‘dope addict’. Alice tries to convince herself that she can’t do drugs anymore, because she will turn into an addict. But she is so, so, so curious, and can’t wait to try pot. She is already planning to get some to try. ”It’s a completely new world I am exploring”. Alice tried drugs once and now can’t think about anything else. She thinks that she will try pot once then go home and forget the whole drug set-up.

Alice starts seeing Bill, who she met at the party and he introduces her to speed and torpedoes. Alice also looses her virginity with Bill, while under the influence of acid. At the time Alice thinks it is great, but it is not until after the whole incident she begins to worry. “I’m so horribly, nauseously mixed up and- what if I am pregnant?”. The good Alice comes back, as she wants to go home, get away from drugs and the group. She begins to worry about what her family and Roger will think of her. “I hate this rotten place and I hate Bill and that crowd”. Alice is beginning to realize what drugs do to people.

In the mist of all of this, Alice’ Gramps has a miniature heart attack. Alice decides to stay longer and help Gran. Roger is around and keeps trying to talk to Alice, but Alice is ashamed to talk to him after all that she has been doing lately. She is finding it hard to cope with life and the stress of everything, so she starts to take her Gramps’ sleeping pills. When she finally does go home she gets more pills from the doctor, she relies on them to get through every day.

Alice is drifting further away from her family. “They keep saying that I am a nice girl, but I am beginning to act like a hippie and they’re afraid the wrong people will be drawn to me”. Alice has changed from being the sweet innocent girl who did everything right, to a drug-addicted teen. She can’t cope with life and her parents not talking to her that she finds it easier to forget the problems exist.

Back at home Alice is not the same person she is confused, needs to talk and be listened to. Her parents are always harping about the way she looks and acts. The only person she has is roger, whom she is writing to. That is until she meets Chris. Chris understands Alice, but gets her back into the drug world. Alice gets a job, which means she has more money to spend on drugs. ”I have to take Dexies to stay high at school, and I have to take tranquilizers to bear up at home”.

Alice and Chris get close and talk a lot about family problems, and running away. They plan to go to San Francisco and start over, forget all the family problems, run away form their worries. “I finally smoked pot and it was even greater than I expected”. Chris fixed Alice up with a college friend of hers, who got Alice onto pot. Alice is so drug influenced that she believes that she really loves this guy. She doesn’t see that it is the drugs.

In the first year we meet Alice we see her transform from a teenager who’s only problems are being stood up by who she believes is her one true love, not getting on with her parents and not fitting in. To a totally different person, the drug addict, cool, doesn’t care about life Alice. Alice is experimenting with her identity and who she wants to be, by taking ‘excursions’ to the other side and back again. Alice is vulnerable and an easy target, which is why she gets herself into these situations. Over the year Alice becomes two different people, the Alice who is sweet and innocent, and the Alice who doesn’t care.

Ode

Lucky is the man who never has been punished by the government’s power! Where once the animosity of the white house has struck, that mansion is shaken. Eternally Judgment comes up behind each American like a star shooting out of the dark galaxy. When the fast rushed star collides and burst drumming force upon the soiled earth. I have witnessed the building pain from wars long fought loom upon America’s people generation after generation takes the force of the enemy government. So lately this last form of the nation’s line drank the security! But now a holy force and a handful of clashes have closed up all its greatness. What mental arrogance attempts to best the president? Sense cannot stop him, nor the effortless long months of the great nations but he is young forever. And his ability is the shining day of the low world. All that is and all the past, is his. Nothing on earth is free from the curse of his ways. The drifting hopes of men may bring them mystery hope But as they stop, the burning embers of motivation start them. Or they walked with eyes fixed on what they plan, as a salesmen looks to sell. But the wisdom of long past, be good to others, for goodness works most for the best, is long forgotten. Mans little belief is the ocean of sorrow. Ode
